Last updated: 02.04.2026

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of this website and any services provided through it by The Business Base, operating as Business Base Recruitment Agency (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using this website, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use this website.

About Our Services

We operate as a remote recruitment and staffing agency. Our services include recruiting and screening candidates for remote employment opportunities, connecting employers with suitable remote workers, and supporting individuals seeking remote employment opportunities. We do not guarantee employment, placement outcomes, or business results.

Eligibility and Geographic Scope

Our services are intended for employers legally permitted to hire workers in Canada and for individuals who are legally entitled to work in Canada or who are in the process of relocating with valid authorization. We do not provide immigration advice or visa sponsorship services.

No Fees Charged to Job Seekers

In accordance with Alberta’s Fair Trading Act and Employment Agency Regulation, we do not charge job seekers any fees for job placement, recruitment, or employment matching services. Any fees charged by us are payable only by employers under separate written agreements.

Employer Obligations

Employers using our services agree that all information provided is accurate, lawful, and non-discriminatory. Employers are responsible for ensuring that employment offers comply with all applicable Canadian employment and human rights laws. Final hiring decisions remain the sole responsibility of the employer.

Candidate Obligations

Candidates agree that all information submitted, including CVs and applications, is truthful and accurate. Candidates confirm they are legally entitled to work in Canada or are actively securing appropriate authorization. Submission of an application does not guarantee employment. Providing false or misleading information may result in removal from our recruitment process.

Independent Contractor Status

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, candidates placed through our services are not employees of our company. Any employment relationship is formed directly between the employer and the candidate.

Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including text, branding, graphics, logos, and materials, is owned by or licensed to us and is protected under Canadian intellectual property laws. No content may be reproduced, distributed, or used without prior written consent.

Website Use and Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to use this website for unlawful purposes, submit false or misleading information, interfere with website functionality or security, or attempt to circumvent recruitment agreements or fees. We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access for violations of these Terms.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for employment decisions, workplace disputes, loss of income, business losses, or damages arising from the use of our website or services. Our total liability, if any, shall not exceed the fees paid to us for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

No Guarantees or Warranties

All services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding job availability, candidate suitability, employment duration, or performance.

Privacy and Data Protection

Use of this website is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information in compliance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable Alberta privacy legislation.

This website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of third parties, and access to such websites is at your own risk.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to our website or services at any time where we reasonably believe these Terms have been breached.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Alberta.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect immediately upon posting. Continued use of the website constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
